Florence Welsh has posted a tweet to address the Conservative party’s use of her song at their conference this week.
She’s not exactly happy about it. The band’s 2009 single ‘You’ve Got the Love’ was played at the Conservative Party Conference this week, but Florence has pointed out that the party didn’t ask for permission to use the track. She also noted that if the Tories had asked permission, they wouldn’t have got it anyway.
Her tweets finished with the polite request that “the Conservative party refrain from using our music in future. x”.
You can see Florences’s thoughts on the matter for yourself below.
If the Conservative party could refrain from using our music in future. x
