The Vaccines’ news is that they’re playing Ally Pally next year

The band started teasing an announcement earlier this week.

The Vaccines have announced that the news they’ve been teasing is a night at London’s Ally Pally.

They’ll play the massive venue on 14th April 2018, announcing the news with a tongue-on-cheek interview video that you can watch below. Tickets are on sale from Friday 10th November.

The news follows eighteen months of dropping hints about their new album plans, with the band holed up in the studio working on the follow up to 2015’s ‘English Graffiti’.

“Obviously songs are constantly evolving, but I think it’d be nice if perhaps there’s a bit more life in the songs on the next record,” frontman Justin Young told Dork way back in August 2016.

“We’ve got about twenty songs,” the frontman revealed. “I think there are some really good ones actually. I’m quite excited.”

A few months later, they told NME: “We’re kind of wrapping up the writing now – I think that will be done in the next month or two. Then we want to record it in the new year. When can people hear new music? Definitely next year, 100%. 200%”

The band appeared at a fair few festivals over the summer, including Sziget, Boardmasters, Truck and Y Not, and will have a slightly different line up this time around, with drummer Pete Robertson having left to pursue “new challenges”.
