Ever run late for something? It’s a pretty bad feeling, so try being in the shoes of The Xcerts frontman Murray Macleod in the new video for latest track ‘Daydream’.
The track is the latest fresh cut to make its way out into the world from upcoming new album ‘Hold On To Your Heart’ (out on January 19th), after the soaring heights of ‘Feels Like Falling In Love’, with a video featuring a road trip that y’know, is missing someone in particular….
Talking about the clip, Murray said:
“We were lucky enough to work with Chris Maguire at RIOT.NYC again who also made the video for ‘Feels Like Falling In Love’. He makes the whole process so comfortable and fun and we had an absolute blast making the ‘Daydream’ video. We wanted it to feel pretty frantic as if you are watching a lucid dream come to life. We were really inspired by the movie Spun, only there was no crystal meth involved, just good vibes and a couple of our best friends.”
“Funnily enough, the performance sequence was shot at the Haunt in Brighton where we are kicking off the UK tour. Thankfully i won’t dripping in sweat before reaching the stage this time round! We are so incredibly excited to kick off the tour tonight in Brighton. We are debuting some new songs and we are going to give it all we’ve got. In our eyes, this is the start of the Hold On To Your Heart touring cycle and we are gonna do it right!!”
As Murray rightly pointed out, The Xcerts will kick-start their headline UK tour tonight (September 29th) before heading through Nottingham, Leeds, Glasgow, Aberdeen, Newcastle, Bristol, Birmingham and London – along with a stop at this year’s Neighbourhood Festival. They’ll then shoot themselves around Europe supporting Nothing But Thieves – so a busy few months eh?
