There’s a new Young Fathers track ‘Only God Knows’ from T2 Trainspotting – listen

The soundtrack to T2 also includes Wolf Alice, Blondie, Underworld, the Clash and Iggy Pop, obviously.

If you’re heading to watch the new T2 Trainspotting film, you’ll get six songs from Young Fathers. One of them, ‘Only God Knows’, is brand new – and you can hear it online now.

Featuring the Leith Congregational Choir, director Danny Boyle explains the song as “the heartbeat for the film”.

“Trainspotting, the original book is like a modern Ulysses,” he explains. “It’s unsurpassed I think, and reading it is still like the ‘rush of ocean to the heart.’ You’re always looking for the heartbeat of a film. For Trainspotting it was Underworld’s ‘Born Slippy.’ For T2 It’s Young Fathers. Their songs are my heartbeat for the film. And ‘Only God Knows’ is that rush again. The ocean. The heart.”
