Toothless has shared an acoustic performance of Palm’s Backside, alongside Marika Hackman.
The track is lifted from Bombay Bicycle Club bassist Ed Nash’s debut solo album ‘The Pace of Passing’, which was released earlier this year.
Speaking about the track, Nash explains: “Palm’s Backside was my take on a breakup song but with a twist. Normally breakup songs are about being hard done by and wanting to get back with your ex or about how you didn’t need them in the first place. Palm’s is about realising that your old partner is better off without you and trying to move on as a result. The song is a back and fourth between a guy and a girl looking back at their relationship. Marika Hackman was my first choice to sing the female parts as I have always loved her music and thought her voice was the perfect counterpoint to mine. Filming this session was the first time I had seen Marika since recording the song and filming the original video for it. She turned up on the day and learnt all the guitar parts in 5 mins!”
