What’s that you say? Where abouts are Vampire Weekend? Well don’t fear, frontman Ezra Koenig has dropped a fresh update on the album – and things are definitely on their way
Responding to a fan on Twitter who had baked some form of pie asking ‘Where’s The Album?’ on top (note to self, this is how we’ve got to ask bands for updates from now on), Ezra confirmed that the next Vampy Weeks album was 80% done – with the last 20% always the hardest too.
80% done but the last 20% is always the hardest

The next Vampire Weekend album will be their first since 2013’s ‘Modern Vampires Of The City’, with the rest of the band fully indulging in a range of side-projects in the interim. From bassist Chris Baio’s run as Baio (releasing two solo albums in the time since ‘Modern Vampires…’) and with our mate Rostam announcing that he was leaving the band (whilst still collaborating on the next album and working on his own solo album, working with The Walkmen’s Hamilton Leithauser and in general being a blooming busy bee), it’s fair to say that the time is now for Vampire Weekend to flood back in a blaze of glory.
We’re here waiting Ezra, we’re here waiting.
