Watch The xx live up to high expectations at Glastonbury 2017

Not many bands could cope with the pressure of leading in to a Radiohead Glastonbury headline set.

It’s hard to think of many better bands to play just before Radiohead than The xx.

Smart but accessible, able to weave a vibe, deliver on expectation and not be overwhelmed by the occasion, obviously the three piece are more than just a palette cleanser, but in their position, most other acts would simply fold.

Indeed, at one point this could have been too much for The xx. Not anymore, though. With third album ‘I See You’ under their belt they’re a more confident band than ever before. Not in a showy way – it’s that quiet steel of a group of people who know they’ve got things right.

You can watch their full Glastonbury Pyramid Stage set here, for the next month, thanks to the BBC.
