Electro-beat movers Goldfrapp are back, unveiling the first details around their incoming new album ‘Silver Eye’.
The LP, their first since 2013’s ‘Tales Of Us’ is set to land on March 31st – with a shimmering snippet of what’s ahead shared today with lead single ‘Anymore’.
Full of dazzling electronica that wraps its way around the distinctive voice of Alison Goldfrapp, it’s a confident and propulsive return that’ll leave you staring wide-eyed at the ceiling like you’re slap-bang in a dystopian Ibiza fantasy.
Speaking about the recording process behind ‘Silver Eye’, Alison detailed how the duo have “never liked repeating ourselves. Often we react to things we’ve just done. We like the spontaneity of not knowing. It’s only through the process that we start to figure out what it is. The fans who have stuck with us are the ones who embrace that idea and are excited by the thought that they don’t know quite what to expect next.”
The other half of Goldfrapp, Will Gregory continued: “I think writing an album is like being lost in a wood. You’re trying to figure out an interesting path. You don’t know whether it’s going to be a dead end or somewhere interesting and you never know when to stop because around the corner some beautiful vista might open up.”
All we know is, if ‘Silver Eye’ is crammed full of stunning moments like ‘Anymore’ – then we’re going to move to those woods for good.
To celebrate the release, Goldfrapp will play a string of shows towards the end of March, including a night at The Roundhouse in London on March 27th – with tickets on sale from Friday (January 27th).
