Weezer might release their Black Album next year after all

Will it, won’t it.

Back in 2016, Weezer teased that they were planning to follow their self-titled White Album with a counterpart Black Album.

Then they released ‘Pacific Daydream’ last week instead, and frontman Rivers Cuomo suggested that while they still have the Black Album songs, they were also working on other sounds.

And now he’s told Dazed that “the Black Album is almost done, and hopefully it comes out in May.”

Hard to keep up, isn’t it?

Speaking to our pals at Upset, he says of the material: “I don’t want to talk about that too much because I want to keep the focus, as much as I can, on the album we’re putting out. We still have those Black Album songs…

“I think they will [be released], but I’ve been writing recently, and now something else is happening with some more piano-based songs.”
