We don’t mean to buzz without reason, but we’re starting to think today’s the day Arctic Monkeys are gonna announce their new, much anticipated album.
The reasoning? Well, Dear Reader, apart from the fact we just sent the new issue of Dork to the printers, so can’t include any news in the mag, the band look to have been fiddling about online.
Eagle eyed types have seen the band have been updating their YouTube account – which could suggest they’ve been uploading new videos. Perhaps for an announce? Perhaps before New Music Friday?
There’s also posts on Reddit suggesting something about a new clip featuring the band wearing red boiler suits – perhaps for a track called “something like ‘One In Four”. Apparently it was shot near Castle Howard, ‘FYI’. Who knows if it’s true, but it’s there.
Arctic Monkeys have been mostly teasing their new record through fan selfies in chip shops – most recently suggesting it’ll be with us next month.
Currently, Arctic Monkeys’ only UK date is at TRNSMT later this summer, but it’s likely there are more on the way. The band have already confirmed runs in Europe and the US, while rumours of a big homecoming show came and went. Keep ’em peeled for more.
