Will Butler teams up with Broad City’s Abbi Jacobson for new live album

The twelve-track release includes five brand new songs.

Arcade Fire’s Will Butler will release a new live album on 17th June. Titled ‘Friday Night’, it features artwork by Broad City’s Abbi Jacobson.

The twelve-track release includes five brand new songs, five from debut solo album ‘Policy’, and two written as part of a projects for the Guardian. It was recorded throughout his recent touring in support of ‘Policy’, mostly at Lincoln Hall in Chicago on 4th June 2015.

“Think of this as a comedy record,” says Will. “In some ways literally—Brooklyn comedian Jo Firestone does the introduction and the “solo” in ‘Friday Night’ — but also, it’s an album based on working out ideas in a room full of people, playing off their energy and expectations. It’s about taking complicated emotions and wringing communal joy from them, and then translating that joy onto record. So here you go!”
