Wolf Alice are back with a brand new album ‘Visions Of A Life’ – check out first track ‘Yuk Foo’ now

There’s a huge tour on the way too!

They’re back!

Wolf Alice have returned with their brand new single ‘Yuk Foo’, and they’re not done there.

The track, which just got a first spin on Annie Mac’s BBC Radio 1 show as her hottest record, comes along with news of the follow-up to their wildly successful debut album ‘My Love Is Cool’. Titled ‘Visions Of A Life’, their second full-length will drop on 29th September via Dirty Hit.

Speaking about ‘Yuk Foo’, vocalist Ellie Rowsell explains: “We wanted to make it open to interpretation, so that anyone who was frustrated at something could have it as their anthem.”

“For me, a lot of it is about being a young woman,” she continues. “Even the shit, everyday wolf-whistle thing. As I get older, I feel like ‘Why have I always put up with that?’ When I sing that kind of song, it’s everything that I want to do when that happens.”

A press release gives us a bit more info about the full-length. Recorded with Paramore and Beck producer Justin Meldal-Johnsen, and mixed by Tom Elmhirst (David Bowie, Arcade Fire, Adele), it has pedigree. Described as “fundamentally a personal album,” opener ‘Heavenward’ is “a cloudburst of shoegazy guitar and vaulting vocals”, while the closing title-track is an “epic, eight-minute” effort.

‘Yuk Foo’, meanwhile, is an in-your-face assault that does exactly what you’d expect from that title. You can check out our review here, or check it out below.

Wolf Alice are supporting the record with a run of tour dates. They’ll hit the US for an intimate run this July, before a huge UK and European tour this October and November. That includes their biggest headline show to date at London’s Alexandra Palace.

Tickets for the shows go on sale at 9am this Friday, 16th June. You can check out all the details, and the track list for ‘Visions Of A Life’, below.
