Wolf Alice are becoming an unexpected supergroup for one night only, as bassist Theo Ellis is forced to sit out tonight’s London Kentish Town Forum show (March 26th).
“Dear everyone,” a statement starts. “Due to unforeseen circumstances Theo (me) won’t be able to play the show tonight. I have developed a really bad infection surrounding my elbow leaving me in considerable prain with limited mobility and on a lot of very sickly medicines.”
“At the moment the plan is to take things day by day and see how it develops. It’s with a very heavy heart I’ve made this decision as every show is beyond important to me. Replacing me is the brilliantly talented John [Victor] of Gengahr fame. His axe slaying ability is beyond comprehension so you are in very safe hands.”
“This is something I never wanted to happen and I am truly gutted. Tonight’s show will still be spectacular and, fingers crossed, I will be fixed as soon as possible.”
In order to make up for the absence, the band have also called in Slaves as a surprise support.
BUT! To help make up for it we're happy to announce that SLAVES will be playing with us tonight!!!!! Onstage @ 20.30!! xx

The news comes alongside a rather nasty looking photo, just to prove the injury is real. Tonight’s show is the first of four London dates at the Forum for Wolf Alice, with the band heading off for a North American tour at the end of next week.
