Newcomers Wylderness have dropped their debut single, ’72 and Sunny’.
Due for release tomorrow (Friday, 13th October) via Succulent Recordings, it’s as sun-drenched and breezy as you’d expect, ready to whisk you away to cheerier climbs than a cold October afternoon.
One of the first tracks that the band wrote, it’s also the first taste of the Cardiff-London based group’s self-titled debut album, which is set for release in early 2018.
“When we began working on this song, we had the guitars really loud and the vocals were barely audible,” the band explain. “We wanted to recreate that in the studio to give it all a dreamy hallucinogenic feel. It’s about the Welsh exodus to Patagonia. The lyrics are like fragments of a conversation between two people debating whether to set sail to this unknown land in search for a utopia that might be real or imagined.”
