Yes, David Byrne is releasing his first solo album in 14 years, but also, Jack Peñate is on it!

OUR INDIE PRINCE HAS RETURNED!

You’d assume that David Byrne’s first solo album in fourteen years would be the take away from today’s announcement of – yeah, that – but we’re Dork. We’re different. We’re special.

While it’s exciting that the record – ‘American Utopia’ – will arrive on 9th March, and it’s great it was made with producers Brian Eno and Rodaidh McDonald (The xx, King Krule), it’s the list of contributors featured on the record where we find our jollies.

Yes, Oneohtrix Point Never, Jam City and Doveman, you’re all great. But there, alongside you, sits the missing indie prince of our hearts.

Jack Peñate.

Jack Peñate is back!

So, sure, you check out the first track from the album ‘Everybody’s Coming To My House’, co-written with Eno and with contributions from Sampha, TTY, Happa Isaiah Barr, and more. But we’ve seen Jack Peñate’s name on a press release in 2018. We need a sit down and a cup of tea.
